Halima was born and raised in Austin, Texas and has always shown an interest in helping and healing people. Being a second generation massage therapist, she grew up regularly giving and receiving massage, which gave her the opportunity to learn and adapt her techniques. Halima is always researching and improving her skills and has been certified to practice massage since 2003. She had the pleasure of learning under Alex Matthews, one of the main lobbyists for massage therapy legislation reform, as well as an extensively educated instructor.
The therapist has worked in massage environments ranging from upscale spas to corporate chair massage to medical and clinical massage settings, including working as a contractor for Google for over a year. Her skills were further honed by working on the Texas Roller Derby Girls for a season and at a chiropractor's office for over a year. In that time, she learned to work on pain management, injury rehabilitation, nerve damage, car accidents and various other injuries. This experience allowed her to learn how to create measurable improvements in injuries and informed her passion for breaking clients free from their pain patterns. She believes that a majority of issues that people accept can be alleviated or healed altogether through bodywork and an individualized wellness plan.
"Massage should be a considered regular maintenance, like an oil change for your body and a reset button for your mind!"
